The client

Benchmark Sport own a number of sports agencies, Sport Industry Group, Benchmark Talent, Beyond Sport, Think Beyond and Square Mile, based in London they run events all over the world. With so many events they need exciting branding that allows flexibility for any number marketing assets with each agency having it’s own style and marketing strategy.

The brief

We were initially approached to work on the Sport Industry Group breakfast networking event, they required a new brand look and creative assets to add to presentations and programmes on the day. Following this event, we started work on the Industry Sport Awards, the groups flagship event, attended by top athletes and sports people from around the world. This involved concepts for creative and hi-spec invites, programmes to introduce brands and categories within the awards, table plans and assorted evening assets including large montages highlighting big sporting events from around the world that year.

Our approach

With a wealth of experience, not only in design and print, but also in the sport industry we were able to put together a number of concepts for their breakfast networking and then the awards night. We sat down with the SIG marketing department and worked through the assets required and a timeline for delivery of all printed materials. We spent some time going through templates that met their approval ahead of schedule, this allowed us to make adjustments right up to deadline as we understood that with events such as these there are always last minute alterations.

What we delivered

First we came up with a simple creative for the breakfast networking brand, something that could be used across all platforms of marketing and presentations, keeping a consistency and instantly recognisable feel. Next up the awards, this was an exciting project, we researched new ideas for invites, using different types of materials and finishes, finally coming up with two invites, one the nominees, another for VIP guests, using foiling and embossing for a high end product. The awards programmes were 124 page, perfect bound editions that included all nominations and sponsor information, alongside this we produced, menus, table plans, table numbers, step and repeat sponsor back drops and large wall montage graphics of sporting highlights from the previous year.

The result

The networking events have continued to grow in popularity, our branding is being used throughout all marketing materials and we turn the programmes around for delivery at the last minute due to late additions. The Sport Industry Awards is a prestigious event, all assets and printed materials were delivered on time and within a set budget, this has lead to Alchemy working with the Benchmark Sport group, not only on their own re-brand, but across all their companies through design, print and presentation materials.
