The client

PatientSource was set up to transform the health of millions by making healthcare smarter.

Across the world there remains a desperate need to digitise health records. The use of paper records remains the norm in many countries. Founded by Dr Michael Brooks, still in clinical practice in the NHS, and Dr Philip Ashworth, they became alarmed at the sheer number of serious mistakes being made because of a reliance on paper documentation and set out to build a solution.

The brief

With existing brand guidelines in place we were asked to explore new colour palettes that would compliment the existing brand colourways, allowing a fresh bold look to the marketing assets that PatientSource wished to use going forward.

Alongside the new colour palettes PatientSource required a set of avatars, bespoke icons/devices and templates for presentations.

The avatars were to be based on the founding partners and an international group of ‘ambassadors’ representing all the markets that they cover, a set of bespoke icons/devices to help illustrate any marketing materials, and presentation templates that were to be shared across the group to increase a consistent brand look at every opportunity.

Our approach

Working with Lee Francis (International Sales and Marketing Director) and Dan Buckley (Head of Marketing), we had online meetings to discuss where they see the brand sitting, not only within their own industry but a wider international stage.

The solution that PatientSource has created stands out from their competitors. They felt a bold and ‘disruptive’ feel to their brand image would help promote their product and approach to marketing.

Using this feedback we offered three initial concepts (colours palettes, characters and icons). Each concept had a very different feel, this allowed us to combine their thoughts on each and present further rounds of concepts until we found the right feel and fit for their ‘new, bolder look’. We suggested breaking the colours options into four different sectors that they work within, this way creating clear and consistent branding in each sector.

What we delivered

Utilising the existing brand guidelines we integrated the new colours and marketing sectors, creating a consistent branding guide for future marketing on behalf of PatientSource.

Using the new broader brand guide, we adapted the character avatars to fit with specific requirements from PatientSource and their wider team. The icons were listed and given a bespoke PatientSource feel and the presentation materials were created and signed off to be used throughout the company.

The result

Starting with the end in mind we were able to work efficiently with both Lee and Dan through online meetings, bringing to life their ideas of a bright and bold future with easy to navigate concepts and concise feedback. We’re extremely proud of the results and look forward to the next stage of this exciting and forward thinking company.
